Gloucestershire Way
SEPTEMBER 2024
We began 14 miles before the official start point, outside the main entrance of Southmead Hospital—where our founder Jamie spent much of his initial recovery after the 2018 accident. Leaving Bristol, we crossed the iconic Severn Bridge toward the official Gloucestershire Way starting point in Chepstow. It didn’t stop raining for the entire nine days as we walked 195km across the county, passing through the Forest of Dean, the Severn Vale and the Cotswolds. By the time we reached Tewkesbury Abbey, much of the surrounding area was under water.
Why do we walk?
Walk~the~Ways is our annual fundraiser, created to support SoulKind’s mentor-led adventures—a programme designed to transform the lives of individuals who have faced life-changing trauma. But it’s also about our community: bringing people together to walk, talk and share lived experience, strengthening connection and wellbeing with every step we take together.
