A STORYTELLING COMMUNITY

SoulKind is a place where stories are told — a space to be inspired, to listen, and to gain a deeper understanding of other people’s experiences.

SoulKind Books.

Our long-form approach means taking the time to truly understand each person’s story. We travel to meet every contributor and spend time with them – sometimes sharing a small adventure along the way. These moments allow us to listen deeply, build trust, and capture the details that only reveal themselves in face-to-face connection. More often than not, those connections become genuine friendships.

SoulKind 4

Seven new contributors – From Dame Evelyn Glennie, whose life reminds us that true listening goes far beyond sound, to Darren Edwards, who redefines what’s possible after paralysis through courage and leadership in adaptive adventure. Lizzie Carr, whose fight for cleaner waterways has become a global movement, and Vedangi Kulkarni, the fearless cyclist who has twice circumnavigated the world.

From Denni Karlsson, the Icelandic filmmaker finding light and meaning through illness and the wild landscapes he loves, to April (Ape) DeManss, whose unflinching honesty and compassion shine through her journey with cancer. And finally Poppy Eyre, whose bravery in speaking out about childhood trauma is helping to change how we listen, believe, and heal.

Your story should...

THE CRITERIA

Reflect lived experience
It should come from real life — shaped by adversity, change and adventure.

Offer insight or learning
We’re looking for experiences that reveal perspective, strength, reflection or a new way of seeing the world.

Be honest and human
You don’t need to be a “writer” — just willing to tell the truth with clarity, care and authenticity.

Have a maximum 600–1,200 words
Long enough to carry meaning, short enough to stay engaging.

Have a positive or purposeful arc
It doesn’t need a perfect ending — just a sense of direction, growth, understanding or possibility.

There are pivotal moments in life that can make or break us. It’s how we deal with them that’s important.”
