SUPPORTING SURVIVORS OF CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE

Created specifically for survivors of child sexual abuse (CSA), this beneficiary programme explores how adventure, nature and human connection can complement traditional support by creating space for connection, confidence and renewed possibility.

Why does this adventure exist?

The effects of child sexual abuse can be profound and long-lasting, often affecting confidence, relationships, trust, identity and a sense of belonging.

While therapy and specialist support services play a vital role in recovery, many survivors describe a need for opportunities to reconnect with themselves and others in different ways — through shared experiences, meaningful challenge and supportive relationships.

The Moel Siabod Pilot Adventure has been developed in response to that need.

Set within the natural landscape of Snowdonia, the programme brings together expert mentorship, time in nature and shared adventure within a small, carefully supported group. It creates opportunities for participants to build confidence, develop meaningful connections and explore what becomes possible when challenge is shared rather than faced alone.

WHY ADVENTURE?

Adventure creates opportunities to step beyond familiar routines and experience ourselves differently.

Whether navigating a mountain trail, sharing conversation around a campfire or supporting one another through a challenge, participants are invited into experiences that encourage reflection, build trust and create meaningful connection.

A growing body of research highlights the positive role that nature, movement, social connection and purposeful challenge can play in supporting wellbeing. At SoulKind, we believe these experiences can offer something unique when shared with others who understand adversity and the courage it takes to keep moving forward.

A carefully supported experience

Set in the magnificent mountains of Eryri — this Mentor-Led Adventure has been intentionally designed for a small group of CSA survivors who are further along in their healing journey and would benefit from connection, shared experience and supported challenge.

Participants are invited through trusted referral pathways and supported by experienced mentors and trauma-aware professionals throughout the programme.

Creating a safe, respectful and psychologically supportive environment is central to the design of the adventure.

Could this adventure be for you?

If you have lived experience of child sexual abuse and would like to learn more about future SoulKind Mentor-Led Adventures, please get in touch. We'd be happy to answer any questions and discuss whether the programme may be a good fit.

LEADERSHIP TEAM

Jo Bradshaw

MENTOR

Jo Bradshaw has climbed the highest peak on each of the seven continents – including Everest – and is a highly regarded keynote speaker, leadership coach, and high-altitude expedition leader.

Alongside her expedition experience, Jo brings a calm, relational approach to leadership – prioritising steadiness, shared pace, and choice. When she’s not on a mountain or leading a team,  Jo enjoys the simple pleasures at home in the beautiful city of Salisbury – most content with a cup of tea in hand, watching the wildlife in her garden with her dog Monty.

Help shape the future of Mentor-Led Adventures.

This is more than a single programme. It marks the beginning of SoulKind's long-term vision to create carefully supported opportunities for people affected by trauma and adversity through adventure, nature and human connection.

As our first Beneficiary Mentor-Led Adventure, this pilot will help us refine and develop a model that complements traditional support. The learning, feedback and lived experiences shared throughout the programme will help shape future adventures, ensuring they remain thoughtful, trauma-informed and accessible to more people over time.

The inspiration for this work began with Poppy's story — a powerful reminder of the lasting impact of child sexual abuse and the importance of creating spaces where people can reconnect with themselves and others.

We believe everyone deserves opportunities to experience connection, belonging and possibility, regardless of the challenges they have faced.

By supporting SoulKind's Mentor-Led Adventures, you are helping us develop future beneficiary programmes, strengthen our evidence and learning, and make these experiences available to more people.

Whether you're an individual supporter, funder or corporate partner, your support can help shape the future of this work.
